The Town of Pouch Cove is warning that it will be closing its dog park if pet owners don’t abide by the rules.
The park, which was developed to meet demand in the town, is being used regularly, but for some reason, users are not picking up after their pets.
The town removed a wheelbarrow full of dog waste last week and just a few days later posted pictures of another load of dog poop that had to be bagged by town staff.
Mayor Mark Vardy calls it a frustrating situation and the park will be closed if pet owners don’t start abiding by the rules.
He says the town provides the dog bags, but it appears that some people are taking the bags, leaving none for others, and still not picking up the poop.
