The Town of Conception Bay South has hosted its 10th annual Bright Business Awards, as part of Small Business Week in the community.
The awards recognize members of the business community for their accomplishments over the past year.
There were a whopping forty-two nominations for this year, adding to the total of around 300 since the award’s inception.
CBS Mayor, Darrin Bent, says despite the pandemic, the business community in the town grew.
Since January of 2018, the town has seen 144 new, expanded, or relocated, which Bent says is a record for that period of time in CBS.
Forty-two of those businesses popped up in the past 12 months alone.
He says the town is trying to attract even more businesses with a new video campaign featuring existing businesses detailing their experience.
