Trades NL kicked off its two day Conference in the capital city today, prompting the Opposition to raise questions about the status of a NL Benefits Agreement long sought by Trades NL.
Opposition Leader David Brazil led off Question Period in the House of Assembly this afternoon.
Premier Furey, who addressed the conference this morning, told the Legislature that government is continuing to work with Trades NL on developing a policy to meet the needs of Newfoundland and Labrador workers. He says right now, up to 97 percent of the workers currently on the job on most projects throughout the province are Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
