There will be no ghouls, ghosts or goblins in the streets of some towns on the Burin Peninsula, particularly Burin and Marystown, where Halloween is being postponed until the region moves back to Alert Level 2.
A COVID-19 outbreak on the peninsula prompted the provincial government to impose restrictions on movement and activities.
The number of new cases has recently begun to slow.
Marystown Mayor Brian Keating says their “Halloween” will be an event labelled “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
He says it will be a bonanza like the kids have never seen before.
There will be all kinds of vendors and everything a kid would want including treats and games.
