The Human Rights Commission has announced the nominees for its 2021 Human Rights Award which recognizes people who have made, or continue to make a meaningful contribution to advancing human rights in the province.

Nominations came from the community and professional contacts.

The winner, to be announced in a virtual ceremony at Government House on Thursday, will receive an original painting by a Grenfell Visual Arts student, Kerenhappuch J. Gandu.

Nominees include Maryan Abdikadir, Catherine Fagan, Hilary Hennessy, John Mweemba, Glenn Roil, Lynn Moore, Dr. Bolo Ogunyemi, the late Delilah Saunders, and Paul Walsh.
