Canada is joining with the United States, Australia and the UK in a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics over China’s record of human rights abuses.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement today following growing pressure over whether Canada would stand with its allies.
The move means that Canada will not be sending any diplomatic representatives to China for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter games, but does not affect the athletes who are competing.
