An annual tree lighting service in memory of Cortney Lake is set for St. David’s Park in Mount Pearl this weekend.
Lake disappeared after she was picked up by a former boyfriend on June 7, 2017. Police say Lake was the victim of homicide, and the sole suspect in the case died a few months after her disappearance.
Lake’s family will gather at St. David’s Park Saturday at 4:30 p.m. for the tree lighting which features purple lights, Cortney’s favourite colour.
The family is asking people to wear their masks and bring along a non-perishable food item for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.
