The installation of additional pay-to-park stations in the downtown is now on hold.
The pay stations were originally set to be installed in the fall, however the battery in some units requires frequent servicing, which the city says is “not sustainable.”
To generate more parking revenue, the city is expanding its PayByPhone parking system on Water Street from Adelaide to Cochrane Street. Signs will be installed in early January, with a grace period from January 3 to 16 to let drivers adjust. Enforcement would then begin on January 17.
