Fire destroyed a garage and utility trailer and caused damage to a home and commercial property in North River on Monday.

The call came in around 10:40 a.m. Monday. Bay Roberts RCMP say a detached garage and an enclosed utility trailer which was parked next to the garage were engulfed in flame when firefighters arrived on the scene.

The flames caused heat damage to a nearby home and commercial property.

Firefighters managed to knock the blaze down, but the garage, trailer and contents, with an estimated value of $300,000 dollars, were a total loss.

A fire scene investigator with the Fire Commissioner’s Office attended the scene. The cause is under investigation.
