Elwood Elementary in Deer Lake is closed today and tomorrow as health officials do school-wide testing for COVID-19 amid a cluster in the area.
At least 36 cases are connected to the cluster with infections detected in four school communities.
The town council met last night to talk things over, and make sure they had as much information as possible.
Mayor Mike Goosney says nobody has all the answers and people are apprehensive, but are looking out for each other.
He says vaccination uptake in the area has been high.
He says the rate is in one of the higher of the zones in the area.
