Rogers Hometown Hockey has postponed its Hometown Hockey Festival in the central region until at least the end of January. Officials say the cancellation comes “out of an abundance of caution and in compliance with local health regulations.”
This week, Central Health issued a COVID exposure notification in Twillingate involving a number of businesses and the George Hawkins Arena. COVID exposure notifications were also issued for the Arts and Culture Centre and Walmart in Gander as well as the Queen Street Dinner Theatre and Sobeys in Grand Falls-Windsor.
COVID testing clinics have been set up in a number of locations as a result.
The Rogers Hometown Hockey festival activities have been placed on hold in the meantime.
