The province released an update on its Climate Change Action Plan on Monday, with 30 of 45 recommendations now implemented halfway through its five-year mandate.
The plan aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; stimulate clean innovation and growth; and build resilience to climate change impacts.
Environment and Climate Change Minister Bernard Davis says there’s been progress but much is still left to do before 2024.
The plan contains 45 commitments led by 11 different government departments and agencies. The commitments require action in every sector of the economy, from businesses and large industry, to households and transportation, and government.
