The Chair of Hospitality NL says government support is needed for the hospitality industry, now more than ever.
With the province moving to Alert Level 3, all bars and lounges are closed, and restaurants are reduced to 50% capacity.
The Chair of Hospitality NL and owner of O’Reilly’s Pub, Brenda O’Reilly, says the timing of the outbreak is a huge blow.
O’Reilly says it can be hard to generate revenue during the winter, let alone during a pandemic, so many businesses are carried through the winter months by what they make in December around the holidays.
She says they are in desperate need of federal, provincial, or municipal support.
