The remainder of the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships have been cancelled.
The International Ice Hockey Federation has cancelled the remainder of the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship, held in Edmonton and Red Deer, because of rising cases of COVID-19. Team USA , Russia, and Czechia all had to forfeit games due to being unable to ice a team.
The cancellation of the men’s tournament follows the announcement that the women’s tournament would not be going ahead this year.
