The Iron Ore Company of Canada has made a significant donation to the Labrador West Ministerial Association and Foodbank on behalf of its employees.
For many years, IOC employees have made donations to the foodbank over the holidays, however due to the pandemic, they have been unable to do so.
That’s why the company is donating $30,000 to the organization, which runs the local community food bank and runs an emergency assistance program for need such as medical travel, emergency shelter and crisis intervention.
The organization also supports programs for children, mental illness education, suicide prevention, and other programming that benefits the people of Labrador West.
The chairman of the Labrador West Ministerial Association, Reverend Robert McLean, welcomes the donation, as their needs have increased due to the pandemic.
