A para-athlete from this province has been named an Assistant Captain for Team Canada heading into the Beijing Paralympic Games.
Liam Hickey is set for his third Paralympic Games, having earned silver for his efforts in his two previous games.
Team Canada announced the Team Captains late last week.
Liam’s father, Todd, says his son takes the honour very seriously.
He says it’s an honour for his son to wear the Maple Leaf. It’s a strong statement from the staff, his coaches and his peers. It’s something that Liam is ready for.
