The man accused of threatening Health Minister John Haggie at his home in December had his case called in Gander provincial court this morning.
64-year-old Jeffery Follett faces a single charge of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
A designation filed in the case means he doesn’t have to appear in court yet.
Police say Follett confronted Haggie at his Gander home just after 6 p.m. on December 7 over COVID masking rules, yelling and threatening the minister, who is also the MHA for the area.
Follett was tracked down at another home in the town a short time later and arrested.
In Gander court this morning, the Crown and defence said they’re working “on a resolution to the matter.”
Follett is expected to enter a plea to the charge when the case is called again in mid-April.
