Central Health is warning the public of an apparent scam targeting residents of the area.
The health authority says some residents of central Newfoundland report receiving a call from a Central Health number.
The caller asks the person for their banking information to return money that was taken out of their bank account.
Central Health says its employees would not ask for money, or the personal banking information of any resident.
They are advising anyone who receives such a call to hang up and not engage with the caller.
