The City of Corner Brook has approved funding for a disc golf course in the city.
The new 18-hole development is planned for the Atlantic Avenue Sports Complex area.
The city contributed $25,000 toward the initiative, in addition to $10,000 leveraged from the provincial government.
Public works director Don Burden says the local disc golf club would maintain the course, similar to other sports and their fields.
He says there’s an active club in the city which has been using a field in Stephenville, adding they’re excited to finally establish a field of their own.
$25,000 was allocated previously however Recreation staff were able to secure another $10,000 for the construction. We'll get 18 holes in the Atlantic Avenue area. Plan is to have it constructed and operational this summer.
This passes!
