The campaign to raise money for the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor has gotten a major boost.
There are about 100 such facilities in Canada but this will be the first one in Newfoundland and Labrador. The hospice will have 10 private suites for people who are in their final days of life.
The United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador has given the “Every Moment Matters Campaign” $40,000.
Construction has begun on the hospice, which is expected to open around the middle of next year.
