The province will be represented at the 2022 IIHF Men’s World Championship later this month.
Dawson Mercer of the New Jersey Devils has been named to Team Canada. This is the rookie’s first time playing for the senior men’s team, after representing the country at the World Juniors in 2020 and 2021.
The 20-year-old was the only Devils player to hit the ice for all 82 games this season, finishing the year with 17 goals and 25 assists.
The World Championship kicks off May 13th in Finland.
