The provincial government is welcoming Dr. Megan Hayes to her new role as Assistant Deputy Minister of Health Professional Recruitment and Retention.
Premier Andrew Furey made the announcement in the House of Assembly in response to a health care question raised by Opposition Leader David Brazil.
Furey told the House that government and representatives of the NL College of Family Physicians met with Dr. Hayes, who is familiar with rural practice, Monday. “We understand the anxieties out there and we’re planning to address them, short, medium and long-term” says Furey.
