NAPE is now the official bargaining agent for eight youth mentors working at The Shelter, a facility run by Choices For Youth.
The facility operates as an emergency shelter for young men and gender non-conforming individuals between the ages of 16 and 29.
NAPE President Jerry Earle says the union is proud to unite and represent the workers. He says they have had a massive amount of interest in unionizing from a wide swath of workplaces across the province and they will be working hard to help workers organize workplaces in the weeks and months ahead.
