Gas prices jumped by 11 cents a litre Monday night and there is a possibility that they could rise again with the scheduled gas price adjustment on Thursday.

Drivers are feeling the pinch with prices in the $2.17 a litre range in the metro area and even higher in some other parts of the province.

Opposition Finance Critic Tony Wakeham says people are hurting.

He says members of the Opposition have been “inundated” by people looking for government to provide “some kind of hope, some kind of support” for people who are suffering, “and there doesn’t seem to be any willingness to do it.”
