One man is in hospital with serious injuries and another is in custody following an incident in the Goulds Sunday night.
RNC issued advisories on social media around 9 p.m., alerting residents of an active search for a suspect following a weapons incident.
Police also urged residents to stay inside as they conducted the operation in the area of Doyle’s Road, Back Line and Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive.
RNC Patrol Services, the K9 unit and Criminal Investigation Division members all responded to the call.
They arrested a 21-year-old man and charged him with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaches of a release order. He was held for court this morning.
The victim, in his 20s, remains in serious condition in hospital.
Police say their investigation is ongoing and are seeking any witnesses or video of the Doyle’s Road area around 8 p.m.
