Traffic is moving on the Trans-Canada Highway near Springdale after a serious motor vehicle collision this morning.

The TCH approximately five kilometres west of Blue Canoe Campground in the Springdale area was impassable for a number of hours following a crash. There has been no official word on the cause of the crash or the nature of injuries at this time.

First responders are on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway five kilometres west of Blue Canoe Campground in the Springdale area.

The highway is impassable and is expected to be closed for an extended period.

Police will provide an update once the highway reopens.
