The Regatta is back in full swing for the first time since the pandemic and the president of the committee couldn’t be happier.
The 204th rowing of the Royal St. John’s Regatta will see crowds and concessions welcomed back to Quidi Vidi Lake for the first time since 2019. This year’s event has added significance, celebrating both the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and Come Home Year with a gathering on Regatta Eve.
The race will also see women’s teams rowing the long course, with three crews expected to run that race. A men’s short course race has also been added.
President of the Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee, Noelle Thomas-Kennel, says it’s incredible to be back to a full-scale Regatta.
She says it’s great to not have to make the decision to cancel the Regatta or not. She says she can’t wait for race day to roll around.
