There were no injuries, but the damage is significant after a car crashed into a house at Hickey’s Road and St. Thomas’ Line in Paradise.
The car left Hickey’s Road, and traveled across the property’s front lawn, smashing into the front bridge of the split-level house and crashing into the living room window before coming to a rest.
The homeowner was washing his vehicle in the driveway at the time of the crash, and rushed around the house to offer assistance to the driver who was shaken by the incident, but is otherwise fine.
The homeowner tells VOCM News his niece had been sitting on the couch in the same window earlier the same morning.
It appears as though a mechanical problem may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
The occupants of the home have been displaced by the damage caused to the structure.
