One man is in custody following a police operation in Stephenville Wednesday morning.

Officers converged on the St. George’s Avenue and Woodland Drive area of the town, and were asking people to stay indoors while they conducted their operation.

The scene is now cleared and residents can resume their normal activities in the area.

There’s a heavy police presence in a section of Stephenville.

Bay St. George RCMP are asking people to avoid St. George’s Avenue and Woodland Drive as they are currently responding to a situation at a home. Residents in the area should remain inside their homes at this time.
