A woman is dead after a diving incident in Conception Bay.

RCMP say a 60-year-old woman who had been diving off Bell Island became unresponsive. She was transported to the shoreline for medical attention where she was pronounced deceased.

Holyrood RCMP say the Chief Medical Examiner has been called in.
