West Coast police are investigating reports of a flare set off near the Burgeo Highway turnoff.
Bay St. George RCMP says they’ve received calls of a flare being set off in a wooded area near the TCH and the intersection to the Burgeo Highway yesterday evening.
Alongside Barachois Brook Ground Search and Rescue, police are searching the area—a popular fishing. hiking, and berry picking spot.
They’re asking people to avoid the area while the search is underway for the source of the flare.
