Man Sent to Hospital Following Weekend Shooting in St. John’s

The RNC is investigating a weekend shooting incident in the capital city that sent a 49-year-old man to hospital for treatment.

Police were called to the area of Gilbert Street in the city’s downtown around 7:30 Saturday morning. The RNC say a red Honda Civic, believed to have been involved in the incident was located in the area of Lemarchant Road a short time later.

Police do not believe the shooting was a random incident. Witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage from the area around the time of the shooting are asked to contact RNC or Crime Stoppers.
