A five-year collective agreement has been signed between the provincial government and the Professional Association of Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, which represents postgraduate medical trainees.
The agreement, which is retroactive to 2019, provides wage parity with maritime resident doctors and includes increases to other rates and allowances.
It also allows residents to substitute a statutory holiday to observe a faith-based holiday other than those on the Christian calendar.
