The federal Minister of Environment and Climate change is in town to meet with provincial officials.
Steven Guilbeault is making his first visit to the province as cabinet minister, and will be discussing a number of files, including wind and hydrogen energy and new conservation areas.
Guilbeault says hydrogen energy is receiving some of the largest investments worldwide.
He calls it the “fuel of the future.” He says the province is well-positioned to be at the forefront of the green energy movement.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be meeting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Stephenville to sign a hydrogen-based deal next week.
