A new study out of Dalhousie University has found that eating seafood is not only good for people’s health, but it’s better for the environment too.
Author Peter Tyedmers, a professor with Dalhousie University, explains that the study has found that seafood offers greater nutrition at a lower rate of greenhouse gas emissions.
Tyedmers explains that seafood is a big source of protein. However, in terms of micronutrients, he says the nutritional value differs widely between species.
For example, he says lobster is high in iodine. while there are some wide differences, he says at its core the health benefits come from micronutrients and protein.
