The social isolation of seniors is an issue that has been top of mind throughout the pandemic and is something that the Canadian Association of Retired Persons is combating through its annual Seniors on the Go event.
The free, day-long event took place yesterday at the MUN Botanical Garden.
President Sharron Callahan says it’s about giving seniors the opportunity to get active and to address social isolation.
She says it gets people out of their homes in a safe, outdoor environment where they can socialize and move around.
On Tuesday, November 1, the association is holding a similar event at the Johnson Geo Centre.
