A 61-year-old woman with dementia has been safely located after going missing while berry picking near Bishops Falls yesterday.

The woman was reported missing shortly before 7:30 p.m. last night.

Exploits Search and Rescue and RCMP Police Dog Services undertook a ground search, while an aerial search was conducted using a helicopter by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre. However, the woman was not found.

Search efforts resumed early this morning and the woman was located through an aerial search.

She was transported to hospital for medical attention, though the extent of any possible injuries is not specified.
