The MHA for Corner Brook believes that Marble Mountain is “not working,” but is confident that government’s plans to sell it off will have a positive outcome.
Earlier this month, the province announced the expansion of an RFP process seeking guidance on upgrades and additions that would position the resort for prospective buyers.
Gerry Byrne describes Marble Mountain as a fantastic asset for the province and a huge tourist attraction.
He says the RFP expansion will seek out people and companies with strong knowledge of ski resort operations.
They will be asking about the pitfalls of the facility and what they need to do to prepare for its sale. Byrne states that Marble Mountain will still be a publicly available facility when all is said and done.
