People in the hard-hit areas of Port aux Basques have to get to their homes as soon as possible to open them for environmental and health inspectors.
Structural and electrical inspectors were in the area last week, but today the homes will be assessed from an environmental and health perspective.
Mayor Brian Button says homes on Water Street East, Feltham Avenue, Clement Crescent, Baird Street and Knox Avenue have to be unlocked.
People don’t have to remain on site as the town will have personnel there to secure the homes after the inspectors are done their work. But it’s imperative that owners get there as soon as they can.
