The Newfoundland Growlers have revealed Buddy the Puffin Jr. as their new mascot.
It’s the first time the team has had a mascot since the passing of Christopher ‘Abbo’ Abbott—the man who began portraying Buddy in the 1990s up until his passing earlier this year.

Buddy Jr. will carry the legacy of the fan favourite puffin who was crowned the ECHL’s best mascot in 2019.
Nolan Walker scored the game-winning goal on Saturday, giving the Growlers a 4-3 overtime win to sweep their series against the Iowa Heartlanders.
