St. John’s native Alex Newhook’s 2022 Stanley Cup victory has been memorialized in a new mural adorning the DF Barnes Arena—the home of the Avalon Celtics.
Mayor Danny Breen calls Newhook a remarkable young man with a dedication to local charities and a commitment to local sport, especially the Celtics.
The President of the Avalon Minor Hockey Association, Mark Sexton, says they’re thrilled with the mural, designed by Impact Signs & Graphics.
Newhook says he’s humbled with the honour and hopes it will provide some inspiration to young players.
