All nine people charged in connection with a major drug trafficking operation that spanned several provinces have been convicted.
The former Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit launched Operation B-Tarantula six years ago. It resulted in charges against nine people, all of whom have now been convicted according to an update provided by RCMP this morning.
The latest convictions involve 36-year-old Ryan Spencer of Holyrood who was sentenced last week to two years for conspiring to traffic and possession of stolen property, and 28-year-old Christian Woodford of Clarke’s Beach who was sentenced for five years earlier this month after pleading guilty to numerous charges including conspiring to traffic in cocaine.
Those convicted in the drug investigation also include Shane Clarke of Mount Pearl, Joseph Connelly of Oshawa Ontario, Dustin Etheridge of Summerside, Brandon Glasco of St. john’s, Bradley Squires of Paradise, John Squires of St. John’s, and Corey Stevens of Mount Pearl.
