The NDP are calling on the provincial government to re-introduce the HST break on home heating.
Labrador West MHA Jordan Brown says the 8 per cent HST was removed from home heating oil and residential electricity, but was reinstated in the 2015 provincial budget.
Brown says removing the HST would provide immediate relief to people in the province, with no forms to fill out or worry if someone’s address changes.
He says in the budget they’ll be looking for long term investments that provide relief without adding barriers.
