The director of sport for the Labrador Winter Games is offering a sincere apology for a mix-up involving medal standings.
Barry Keough told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly that overall, the games were a great hit, but they ran into a few weather-related hiccups.
Keough calls a mix-up with some of the medal standings unfortunate.
He says they ended up with some incorrect scores coming in from the hurdles event which resulted in one athlete incorrectly coming out ahead of another.
He says there was a mix-up involving the scores, that wasn’t realized until Team Charlottetown came to them pointing out the error. Cartwright also indicated that the results might not have been accurate. Keough says they had to review video footage to get the correct scores.
He’s offering his sincere apologies to the athletes and teams involved.
