Memorial University says a recent tweet by a member of its Board of Regents is being reviewed.
The March 17 tweet, in the wake of the deaths of two Edmonton police officers while on duty last week, has come under public scrutiny.
Memorial issued a short statement in response yesterday, saying its Board of Regents is governed by a code of conduct and bylaws and the matter is under review.
It’s the latest controversy facing the university.
MUN’s president is on a temporary paid leave of absence after questions were raised about how she presented her Indigenous ancestry.
Memorial's Board of Regents is aware of social media comments made by a board member on March 17. Board members are governed by a code of conduct and bylaws. This matter will be reviewed through the processes set out in the code of conduct.
