A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion in Stephenville Crossing early Monday morning.
RCMP were called about a violent attack at a home in the community around 3:45 Monday morning. Police say the suspect forced his way into a home, assaulted the man inside and stole a quantity of cash, prescription meds and other items.
The victim suffered serious injures as a result of the attack.
Donald Matthew King was arrested at a home in Mattis Point and charged with robbery, aggravated assault, break, enter and theft, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaching conditions of a release order and probation.
