White Hills Ski Resort in Clarenville is being recognized as one of the top peaks in Canada.
White Hills is among the top three candidates for the MacKenzie Top Peak Challenge.
Clarenville town councilor and member of the White Hills’ Board of Directors, Deidra Strowbridge, says it’s a contest similar to Kraft Hockeyville whereby the community is invited to participate in a number of challenges and events and vote for their favourite ski hill.

Strowbridge says White Hills has made it to the final top three, meaning it is eligible for a cash prize of at least $10,000, regardless of the final outcome.
The winner of the $100,000 grand prize will be announced this Saturday evening, and Strowbridge says a major celebration is planned.
She’s expecting a big crowd for the event starting at 4:00 p.m. at White Hills.
