Putting up the big top down at Quidi Vidi Lake for Iceberg Alley is quite a big task, and even though workers have a new tent to contend with, the process continues to be a relatively smooth one.
Iceberg Alley returns on June 14 with headliners such as Sugar Ray, Walk Off the Earth, Collective Soul and Shanneyganock.
While challenging at first, construction crews were able to make quick work of putting up the original tent as the years went on.
However, that structure was destroyed by Hurricane Larry in September of 2021.
Last year’s event was the first run for a new tent purchased by promoter John Steele, and he says crews adapted quickly.
He says the new tent is bigger than the original, so crews had to make adjustments there but they are becoming more efficient at it.
