The Gander Bay Fire Department has issued a caution about having outdoor fires this time of year.
The department was called out to a grass fire yesterday.
They say a person had a fire in a barrell that got out of control.
They remind that even though the snow just melted, the grass is “extremely dry.”
They remind people to use care and caution, and to have a water source nearby when having a controlled fire.
