Students at Memorial University say they have a commitment from the Premier to revisit the whole issue of funding.
Close to $70 million has been cut from the provincial allocation to MUN, resulting in significant increases in tuition fees.
MUNSU, MUNFA and the interim President, Dr. Neil Bose, met with Premier Andrew Furey yesterday. The Premier opted not to accept an invitation to the Town Hall at MUN next week, choosing instead to hear their concerns at a private meeting.

Students’ Union VP John Harris is cautiously optimistic that some of the funding will be restored.
He says the increases in tuition were brought to cabinet by the Past President, Vianne Timmons. Harris has a sense that government is not married to the $68.4 million cut in funding to the university.
